Fortifiber® Engineers Radical Improvements into Moistop PF® Flashing

RENO, NV, August 24, 2006 - Fortifiber Building Systems Group® has employed new advanced materials and manufacturing processes to give Moistop PF more tear resistance, with improved jobsite and UV durability.

Engineered to strike a unique balance between durability and cost-effectiveness, Moistop PF is Fortifiber's most economical mechanically-attached flexible flashing product. The color change, from gray to white, is only the beginning.

"It's a far more durable product for the same price," said Jim Rossner, Director of Marketing for Fortifiber Building Systems Group. "The original version of Moistop PF was an excellent product. By employing new materials and manufacturing technologies - we've been able to enhance its jobsite durability and make it even better - without any increase in cost."

The new version still exceeds all industry standards; providing five times the industry standard for water resistance (ASTM D-779), and zero mold growth (ASTM G-21). Improvements to Moistop PF allow it to withstand UV exposure for up to one year, which far exceeds the UV durability of competing products. The new design also provides even greater tensile strength and trapezoidal tear strength than the incredibly resilient original (ASTM D-882 and ASTM D-4533).

The Solution of Choice
Moistop PF is the solution of choice when building requirements call for a mechanically-attached flashing product that is unaffected by substrates or job site conditions. A strong, multilayer composite of heavy-duty woven polypropylene fabric, coated on both sides with ultraviolet-resistant polypropylene, Moistop PF resists job site abuse, tears, cracking and curling, and provides excellent water protection for structures. It is ideal for application over OSB or plywood, installs easily with simple tools, and allows for trouble-free integration with the weather-resistive barrier. It can be used on all types of windows and doors and is available in convenient pre-cut widths of 6, 9, 12 and 18 inches.

Backed by the FortiShield® 10-Year Product Warranty, Moistop PF is part of Fortifiber's complete Moisture Control System for Walls. The system is comprised of 100% compatible materials, including Moistop® Sealant and Fortifiber's weather-resistive barriers. Fortifiber offers the only complete moisture control system available from a single source.
