Fortifiber® Moistop Ultra 15 Wins 2006 Reader's Choice Award from Three Leading Concrete Construction Publications

RENO, NV, June 9, 2006 - Fortifiber Building Systems Group's® Moistop Ultra 15 - the most technologically advanced underslab vapor retarder ever made - has earned the Reader's Choice Award. The product earned this award by making the top five percent in reader response and requests from Concrete & Masonry Construction Products, Concrete Construction and Masonry Construction magazines throughout 2005.

The award is based on requests for information from readers of all three magazines, over a period of 12 months, and selected from a field of more than 1,000 products. Results were published in the May 2006 issue of Concrete Construction Magazine, which states; "Moistop Ultra 15 is a Class A underslab vapor retarder with a low water vapor permeance and high tensile strength made from polyolefin film™ it is designed to deliver long-lasting protection at a low installation cost."

Concrete underslab vapor retarders are used to prevent moisture from penetrating the slab and ruining the finished flooring. Sheets are laid over soil or gravel/granular fill, under the slab. One misstep with a piece of construction equipment on an unrated vapor retarder can produce thousands of holes - rendering the moisture retarder qualities useless. The puncture resistance and tear strength of such products are crucial - and this is where Fortifiber's Moistop Ultra line excels.

The Moistop Ultra family represents a new generation of concrete underslab products designed to provide incredible durability on the jobsite and lasting protection against moisture intrusion. Moistop Ultra 15, Ultra 10 and Ultra 6 are continually tested in accordance with ASTM procedures, which rate this class of water vapor retarders as A, B or C. Moistop Ultra 15 and Ultra 10 are rated Class A (most other 10mil products are rated Class B). Both products significantly exceed the Class A standards. While most other 6 mil vapor retarders are rated as Class C, Moistop Ultra 6 (6 mil) exceeds ASTM E-1745 both Class B and C Standards.
