Lennar Chooses the Fortifiber® Moisture Control System to Protect Its Homes

RENO, NV, April 4, 2007 - Lennar Corporation, the nation's third largest home builder, announced that it will use Fortifiber's complete moisture control system exclusively, to protect its houses in Florida and the North East.

"Florida has some of the most extreme weather in the country," said Richard Lusk, Lennar's vice president of regional supply management in Florida. "With all the hurricanes we've experienced in the last few years, we needed to do something to assure our homeowners were protected."

Lusk decided that a true building envelope system was needed in that region. The idea sparked a lengthy research project that examined all available housewraps, flashings, and building envelope systems. More than a year later, the Lennar research team concluded that the Fortifiber system was the best fit for their needs.

"There was more to this decision than just the science behind a great housewrap," Lusk explained. "WeatherSmart stood out from the crowd with its perm rating, weather resistance and extended warranty, but the company's national footprint also meant the products were readily available to our trade partners. That made the rollout process very easy." Lusk continued, "Fortifiber also provides a great field training program and worked with our quality assurance associates onsite. The hands-on training and support was excellent."

After the successful rollout of this program across the entire Florida division, Lusk presented his team's findings to Lennar's national group. Impressed by the results, the North East region also adopted a Fortifiber-only system and other Lennar regions (including the Mid-West and Mid-Atlantic) are currently considering similar plans.
